All entries must be registered on-line. This will be required for all exhibits and exhibitors that are entered in the fair. If you don’t have access to a computer, then the library is your best option. There will also be a computer available for use at the fair office during normal business hours.


Items can be entered on-line through Monday prior to the fair (one week).

1. All exhibits shall be displayed in space provided by the Superintendent of FFA.

2. All landscape projects must be set up Friday before the Fair.

3. No commercially grown plants shall be entered in the general FFA plant show. All horticulture exhibits shall be grown or made as a part of the instructional program or supervised agricultural experience program of the FFA.

4. Student must have owned exhibit at least three months prior to Fair time and must have personally groomed the exhibit.

5. Landscape exhibits may use commercially grown plants. Exhibits shall be judged on the Danish System.

6. Containers shall be commercial plastic containers. Cans and wooded boxes shall not be used for exhibit purposes. Certain plants may require clay containers. Such containers shall be clean, and attractive. A decorated container shall be considered only to the degree it detracts from the appearance of the plant.

7. Plants shall be identified properly by the exhibitor prior to entry by the appropriate markings as both the scientific and common name.

8. Exhibits shall be free of contaminating insects and diseases. The Superintendent may reject any exhibit with visible contamination.

9. Exhibits shall not be removed from the display until released by the Superintendent. Prior removal shall be cause for loss of ribbons and premiums.

10. Exhibits of individual plants shall be limited to one of any variety and two of any one genus. Design shall be limited to one of each class.

11. Exhibits will not be accepted after 9 a.m. on Monday, entry day.
12. Plants judged on:

a. Condition: Grooming, freedom from mechanical damage, disease, insects, appropriate color and fertility.

b. Cultural perfection: the degree of perfection possible for its variety.

c. Maturity: plants must be mature for display purposes. d. Container: over potted, under potted, cleanliness, appropriateness

13. Over two entries must be approved by the Superintendent.

*Exhibitors are responsible for watering their own plants

DIVISION E – GREENHOUSE

Portable greenhouses: Shall be no smaller than 8' x 10'. Benches, as appropriate, shall be included. Electrical wiring and water piping is not required. Houses shall be complete in all other details.

DIVISION F - Landscape Design Exhibit

All nursery stock MUST be baled or in cans.

Chapters are limited to one entry.

Adult involvement is limited to supervision and advice.

Entry shall exemplify some phase of home landscaping or home beautification typical of student effort.

A planting plan covered with plastic facing a list of plants must be with the exhibit and be displayed in prominent location.

Put plan out without school name for judging.

Display judged on:

a) Educational value

b) Flow and blending of materials

c) Condition of plants and materials

d) Appropriate to the theme of use of display

e) Neatness and quality of construction

f) Labeling of materials, explanation of purpose and display of plan
