For 4H and FFA

Beef, Dairy, Sheep, Goats, Horses,Llama/Alpaca, and Swine http://nwwafair4h.fairwire.com/

All 4H and FFA exhibitor will need to register on both pages if they are also entering in Open class Beef, Dairy or Horses. They will need to enter their names exactly the same. No exhibitor will be allowed 2 exhibitor numbers.

All entries must be registered online. This will be required for all exhibits and exhibitors that are entered into the fair. If you don’t have access to a computer, then the library is your best option. There will also be a computer available for use at the fair office during normal business hours.

Exhibits can be entered on-line by July 25th. Late entries will be charged a fee of $25.00 per head through July 31st. After July 31st late entries may not be accepted.

Haul in- Sunday prior to the Fair 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. All exhibits in this department must be in place by 9 a.m. Monday, opening day of the fair.
Release- Saturday night of the fair after 9 p.m.

Goats will be vet checked between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. only on Sunday prior to the fair, unless arrangements have been made with the Superintendent to have your animal checked on Monday morning. Please arrange to to bring your animals between those hours. Enter the fairgrounds through Gate 5 off the Kok Road, and continue to the east side of the Henry Jansen Building. Security will be there to assist you with directions. Your animals are to remain in your vehicle until the veterinarian asks you to remove them for vet check. You will need to come prepared with completed stall cards for all your animals. If your animal passes the vet check, you will be given a sticker to place on the stall card reflecting the animal has passed inspection. You may then proceed to the pen and hang the card in the proper place.

Meat Goats, Pack Goats, Fitting and Showing and Pygmy Goats-
Collared shirt, jeans, belt, shoes with closed toe AND closed heel (slip on or lace up), leather boots preferred.

Dairy Goats-
White collared shirt, buttoned at the neck (tie or pin optional), white pants, belt – black, white, or brown. Shoes with closed toe AND closed heel (slip on or lace up), leather boots preferred.

Entries can be placed on-line by July 25th. Late entries will be charged a fee of $25.00 per head through July 31st. After July 31st late entries may not be accepted.

1. All project animals must be owned by June 1st. Please refer to 4H rules if borrowing an animal.

2. Exhibitor meeting 9:30 a.m. Monday of the fair.

3. Each 4-H member may enter 7 animals in the goat class(stall space permitting). If showing in both 4H and FFA the exhibitor may show no more than 8 animals between the two organizations. No more than two animals may be shown in each class. Except for Dairy/Meat Does, senior and junior.

4. Dairy does over 24 months old must be milk or have been in milk. They will be shown in the Senior Division.

5. 4H members must show in fitting and showing in order to show in type.

6. Grand and Reserve Champion rosettes will be awarded. Showmanship and Overall Type Trophies will also be given during Awards Ceremony.

7. Concerning health requirements and vet check, see Health Requirements at the beginning of the Premium Book. Vets and superintendent resere the right to refuse entry to fair based on health or safety reasons.

8. All goats must be removed from the fairgrounds by 10 a.m. Sunday after the Fair.

9. No does allowed past 3 months pregnant.

10. Water must be in pens at all times.

11. No muzzles allowed on animals, and no drenching of animals allowed.

Overall showman will compete in Round Robin Competition on Saturday

Open to all 4-H'ers with goat and sheep projects. Special Rosettes will be given.
Judges will determine category.

1. Best decorated goat contest


JUDGING: Will be done on a club basis three times a day. Each club shall consist of not less than five animals. Awards will be handed out on Saturday afternoon. Judging will be based on condition of animals, cleanliness, and attentiveness of exhibitors, arrangement of club, stall, and decorations.

Bring to the Jansen Building to be judged. Contact person is Joyce Hubbard. This class is for any project made that has to do with goats.
