For 4H and FFA

Beef, Dairy, Sheep, Goats, Horses, Llama/Alpaca, and Swine http://nwwafair4h.fairwire.com/

All other entries: http://nwwafair.fairwire.com/ This includes all other 4H and FFA departments.

All 4H and FFA exhibitor will need to register on both pages if they are also entering in Open class Beef, Dairy or Horses. They will need to enter their names exactly the same. No exhibitor will be allowed 2 exhibitor numbers.

*NEW FOR 2018*

All entries must be registered online. This will be required for all exhibits and exhibitors that are entered into the fair. If you don’t have access to a computer, then the library is your best option. There will also be a computer available for use at the fair office during normal business hours.

Exhibits can be placed on-line through the Monday prior to the fair (one week). Entries are due 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday before the fair in the 4-H Exhibit Building.


1. All entries must be accompanied by a 3" x 5” white index card on which you have printed the following
information:

  • Your Exhibitor Number
  • Your Age
  • Item (What it is)
  • Class and lot
  • Construction (What materials & techniques were used)
  • What did you learn? How long have you worked on the project?

2. No School Projects
3. All exhibitors must be enrolled in a science project through their 4-H club.


NATURAL SCIENCE AND NATURAL RESOURCES

Open to members enrolled in any Natural Resource, Discovery, Challenge, Blue Sky, Agriculture or Horticulture type projects.


DIVISION A - BEEKEEPING
Maximum of 4 entries per class. Each exhibit must be properly labeled.

PREMIUMS: 4.00 3.00 2.50

2. Comb honey
3. Chunk honey
4. Extracting frame of honey
5. Beeswax, not less than 2 pounds
6. Best frame of queen and her bees

DIVISION B - ENTOMOLOGY
Maximum of 4 entries per class. All insect exhibits to be labeled giving the common and scientific names.

1. Insect collection containing 12 insects
2. Insect collection containing 25 insects
3. Exhibit of life stages - eggs to adult
4. Special collection of insects by economic importance, etc.
5. Exhibit demonstrating careers in Entomology
6. Exhibit demonstrating biological controls on insects
7. Exhibit of traps or collecting techniques
8. Other


DIVISION C - WILDLIFE / ECOLOGY
Maximum of 4 entries per class.

1. Exhibit depicting local fauna
2. Tracks and signs of wildlife (how to recognize)

DIVISION D - MARINE SCIENCE

DIVISION F - SELF DETERMINED NATURAL SCIENCE
Any item or display featuring any of the following: Anatomy, Astronomy, Archeology, Biology, Biosphere, Botany, Chemistry, Crystal Growing, Ecology, Genetics, Geometry, Math, Microbiology, Physics, Worm Farming, Zoology, etc. Maximum of 4 entries per class.

MECHANICAL SCIENCE
Open to any member enrolled in any Mechanical Science, Discovery, Challenge, or Blue Sky Project.


DIVISION G - COMPUTERS
Maximum of 4 entries per class.

1. Any item or display featuring computers.


DIVISION H - MODEL ROCKETRY
Maximum of 4 entries per class.
All models from kits except for class 5.
Label with each entry must include members name, age, club name, rocket type, and description.

1. Level I, rocket
2. Level II, rocket
3. Level III, rocket
4. Level IV, rocket
5. Rocket designed, built, and tested by exhibitor
6. Exhibitor made model rocket-tracker (altimeter)


DIVISION J - BLUE SKY / AEROSPACE
Maximum of 4 entries per class.

PREMIUMS: 4.00 3.00 2.50
CLASS NUMBER
1. Any article or display from a Blue Sky project
2. Model of a wing, glider, kite, balloon craft, or model of aircraft or space craft of your own design (no kits)
3. Exhibit of a space station, moon or mars base (not from a kit).
4. Any item or display featuring Scientists, Inventors, Explorers, Pilots, Astronauts, etc.
5. Other mechanical science project


DIVISION K - CHALLENGE / DISCOVERY PROGRAMS
Maximum of 4 entries per class.

PREMIUMS: 4.00 3.00 2.50
CLASS NUMBER
1. Any item or display featuring one of these two projects


DIVISION L - WOODWORKING
Maximum of 4 entries per class. Wood must be chosen and cut by exhibitor.
No precut items - These belong in Division 13, Arts and Crafts, Class B.

DIVISION M - MECHANICAL SCIENCE SELF DETERMINED
Any item or display featuring any of the following: (such as) Telescope Making, Bicycle, Bridge Building, Combustion Engines, Map Making, Fly-Tying, Game Boards (i.e. Chess), Energy Conservation, Electrical, Soldering Techniques, S.W. Radios, Solar Power, Wind Power, Robotics, etc.

Maximum of 4 entries per class.
