The Northwest Washington Fair is following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Whatcom County Health Department.
As of 2:06pm March 19, 2020, Whatcom County Health Department's current recommendation is that gatherings of 10 or more people be cancelled or postponed.

The CDC recommended on March 16 that "during the next 15 days, all U.S. events of 10+ people should be cancelled or held virtually."

President Trump announced that social gatherings of more than 10 people should be avoided.

Washington Governor Jay Inslee ordered that "all gatherings with over 50 participants are prohibited and all gatherings under 50 participants are prohibited unless previously announced criteria for public health and social distancing are met."

As this affects the majority of our non-fair operations, we will be closing the Fair Office until further notice.

In the meantime, Fair staff will remain accessible by phone or email as we continue to plan for an amazing 2020 fair!

The Northwest Washington Fair is offering to apply any existing deposits for March, April, and early May events to future rentals. For inquiries about individual events, please contact the event directly.

If you can’t avoid bringing groups of people together:

  • Urge anyone who is sick not to attend.
  • Encourage those who are at higher risk for coronavirus not to attend.
  • Try to find ways to give people more physical space so that they aren’t in close contact, as much as possible. Ideally, that would mean a distance of six feet from one person to the next.
  • Encourage attendees to maintain good hygiene habits, such as frequent hand washing.
  • Clean surfaces with regular household cleaners.
