**News Correction: Statement from the Northwest Washington Fair**
The Northwest Washington Fair Association (NWWFA) has reached an out-of-court settlement, currently pending court approval, with the families involved in a suit regarding the transmission of E. coli linked to an event held at the fairgrounds in 2015. The settlement was agreed upon before the suit was brought to trial and it immediately resolves the case against the Fair Association.
According to attorneys representing the NWWFA, the parties to this settlement agree that the Fair Association does not admit any wrongdoing or negligence in connection with the outbreak.
Statement from Jim Baron, manager of the Northwest Washington Fair Association:
"This is a positive step forward for us and all of those affected by the unfortunate events of the 2015 Milk Makers Fest. We look forward to putting this litigation behind us and focusing on our mission of serving the community with wholesome education, experiences, and enjoyment, which we've been known to do for more than a century. We are deeply committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all who visit our fairgrounds and are pleased to welcome families to the many activities we have in store for this year and beyond."
