Haul in: All exhibits must be in place by 9 a.m. Monday of the fair.

Release: All swine must be removed from the fairgrounds by 10 a.m. Sunday after the fair.

Vet Checks will be on Monday from 6:30-8:30 a.m.

  1. Entries can be placed on-line or forms are due in the fair office by July 25th.  If July 25th falls  on a weekend, entries will be accepted in the fair office on the following Monday without penalty. Late entries will be charged a fee of $25.00 per head through July 31st .  After July 31st entries might not be accepted.
  2. Animals will be shown by breed.
  3. Limited to seven animals per exhibitor, not limited to one entry per lot. In case of shortage in stall space, 4-H members with the most entries will be cut first.                                             
  4. Animals shown in market classes will not be elligible for show in breeding classes.
  5. Ownership must be established or contract written and dated by June 1st and included in record book.
  6. Must show in Fitting and Showing in order to show in Type.
  7. All swine must be removed from the fairgrounds by 10 a.m. on Sunday after the fair.
  8. ONE Sow with litter is allowed for the whole 4H Dept. Helen Zylstra, Superintendent, will choose who that one will be. Please be sure to enter yours if you want to try for this place.

CLASS I - CLUB HERDSMANSHIP

JUDGING: Will be done on a club basis three times a day. Each club shall consist of not less than five animals. Awards will be handed out on Saturday afternoon. Will be based on condition of animals, cleanliness, attentiveness of exhibitors, arrangement of club, stall, and educational decorations.

CLASS L - BEST OVERALL SWINE DISPLAY

Best Overall Swine Display will be judged on educational value, decorations, cleanliness of stall and tack areas, care of hogs, appropriate stall cards and a 4Her on barn duty.  This will be judged at 3 different times and the winner will be announced Thursday at 9 am before the swine type contest. Prize is sponsored by Homestead Golf and Country Club.

CLASS M - SWINE QUIZ BOWL

The 1st ever 4H Swine Quiz Bowl will be Friday at 10 am in the swine arena. Form a team of 4 from your club or another club. This is available to all 4Hers. Sign up on the poster board in the 4H swine area. Prizes awarded to the winning team are sponsored by Elebaas Co.
