 Entries can be placed on-line or forms are due in the fair office by July 25th. If July 25th falls on a weekend, entries will be accepted in the fair office on the following Monday without penalty. See rule #1 on the General 4-H Rules and Regulations  page.

  1. Members may enter only one llama/alpaca. Seniors may apply to use two llama/alpaca projects. This must be approved by the Superintendent and is subject to approval based on space restrictions.
  2. Available space is usually full. Priority will be given to clubs exhibiting the previous year.
  3. Ownership must be established or contract written and dated by May 1st and be included in your record book.
  4. You must enter fitting and showing to receive premiums in other animal classes.
  5. Exhibitors must adhere to club guidelines. Failure to do so may result in the loss of premiums.
  6. No ungelded males over the age of two years are allowed.
  7. The Superintendent will excuse animals that are not safe for the public and/or exhibitors from the Fairgrounds.
  8. Exhibitors are responsible for their own animals care in the a.m. and p.m. This includes assigned herdsmanship duties.
  9. Llama/Alpaca exhibits must remain in the llama/alpaca area unless granted permission otherwise from the Superintendent or Fair Manager.
  10. Superintendent has the right to accept or refuse any entry.
  11. All non 4-H display items must be approved for posting or displaying by the Fair Manager and/or their delegate. Farms who supply animals for use by 4-H youth are not considered sponsors.
  12. Any llamas/alpacas with drop pasterns or other health or physical problems will not be accepted as an entry in this department.

Open only to 4-H members exhibiting in this department. Each group will give oral reasons on llama classes.

Any shop project, equipment built, sewing project, models, or art projected associated with 4-H Alpaca or Llama project. Contact person is Joyce Hubbard, Goat Superintendent.

CLASS L – CLUB HERDSMANSHIP

Entered by club leader. Judging will be done on a club basis three times a day. Each club shall consist of not less than five animals. Rosette awarded to top club of the week. Awards will be given out on Saturday afternoon. The judged will be looking for condition of the animals, cleanliness, attentiveness of the exhibitors, arrangement of club, stall, and educational decorations.
