The purpose of this department is to demonstrate the value of hobbies as an aid to education and art, as a means of preserving historical background, and for the development of craftsmanship.

  1. Each entry will be judged on its merits as a hobby and points to be considered in judging include: execution, originality, study, possibilities of development, educational value and general appeal.
  2. The general rules of the fair are to be observed.
  3. No entry fee will be charged.
  4. HOBBIES THAT HAVE BEEN SHOWN BEFORE MUST SHOW MARKED PROGRESS IF ENTERED AGAIN.
  5. THE SUPERINTENDENT MAY LIMIT THE SIZE OF COLLECTIONS ACCORDING TO THE ROOM AVAILABLE. Superintendent has the right to accept or refuse any entry. ( Judged by quality, not quantity)
  6. Matches must be removed from match collections.
  7. Hobby entries MUST be entered Saturday preceding the fair between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Entries may be made on-line until August 7th.
  8. Special policing of the Hobby Department will begin Monday. The Fair Association will not be responsible for loss or damage to articles left on display.
  9. Hobbies will be released Sunday after the fair between noon and 4 p.m..
  10. Best of Division, Best of Class, Best of Lot and Best of Show will receive rosettes. Daily Viewer's Choice will receive ribbons.
  11. Adult Division exhibitors must be under sixty two, Junior Division exhibitors must be under sixteen and Youth Division exhibitors must be under ten as of July 1 of the current year.
  12. Lot numbers to be determined by superintendent.
  13. Superintendent will close the department when space is full.
  14. LIMIT OF 2 (TWO) ENTRIES AND 1(ONE) COLLECTION.

For collections of not less than five objects representing the hobby of the exhibitor. Collection should be grouped according to families, groups or natural divisions and be labeled in a clear, readable manner.
