DEPARTMENT K - GRANGE BOOTHS

SuperintendentJill Horgen

Phone: 319-6572

The Grange Department is located under the Grandstand.

Entries can be placed on-line by August 7th, or see rule #2

  1. All Whatcom County Granges are eligible to enter.

  2. All booths must be complete, ready for judging, by 9 p.m. on Sunday before opening day of the Fair. Judging will be Monday morning.

  3. Size of booth is approximately 10' deep x 8' wide with a 3' back wall. Two booths on west side have a taller back wall—approximately 5’-6’. Also, end booths have a full side wall.

  4. Any painting done in the booths is the responsibility of that Grange’s members. Any color may be used, however, please keep in mind that dark colors are hard to cover the next year, and we need to be considerate of the next Grange to use that booth.

  5. Booth Theme: Grange Fair Booth committees will choose their own theme. This will be one of the criteria used in the scoring.

  6. Booths can be either produce or project type. Please let Superintendent know which category you are entering. Produce used in booths should reflect Whatcom County, but may be representative of Washington State.

  7. Exhibitors are urged to replace wilted flowers or fruit as needed during the week.

  8. Please hide or cover commercial or brand names on items used in the booth.

  9. Name of grange is to be covered until after judging is finished.

10. Displays may be removed, and booths cleaned on Sunday after the Fair from 9 a.m. to noon.

11. Each Grange Fair Booth committee should submit an “info card” that will include the following: A. Produce or Project booth,

12. B. Theme/Message, C. Explanation supporting your theme - 1 or 2 paragraphs.

13. Volunteer Shifts: Four 3-hour shifts each day. 10 a.m. -1 p.m., 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., 4 p.m. – 7 p.m., and 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Tickets will be available through the Superintendent.
